A shared page for study groups and classrooms
Group projects stall when the notes live on one person's laptop. A pad gives the whole group one page that everyone edits at once, from any device, with nothing to install and no student accounts to set up.
How to do it
- Start a pad and share the link in the group chat, in the class channel, or on the board as a QR code.
- Agree on a structure: one heading per topic, chapter or team member, so people can work in parallel without getting in each other's way.
- Before the exam or the deadline, export the finished notes as plain text or Markdown so everyone keeps a copy.
Why a pad works well here
- Author colors show each person's contribution, which makes it easy to see who still needs to add their part.
- Nothing to install and no sign-up, so it works on school laptops, phones and shared computers alike.
- The timeslider shows how the page came together, which is useful for a teacher checking a group's process.
- The editor is available in more than 100 languages and follows each person's browser setting.
Tips
- For a class exercise, prepare the pad with the questions already written, then share the link when the lesson starts.
- Remember that anyone with the link can edit. Keep the link inside the group and use the read-only link when you share results more widely.
